SnapCover® Chain
Steel chain used in combination with plastic covers.
Features a high allowable load while minimizing scratches to items placed directly on the chain for conveyance.
Base chain specifications:
- Standard series
- NP Series (nickel plating)
- Lambda Series (lube-free)
- SS Series (SUS304)
Features
- Has a higher allowable load than plastic block chain (7x RSP60 for RS60-SC), making it ideal for long conveyor layouts.
- Uses plastic for the covers that directly convey items, thereby preventing scratches on the items.
- Selection of six chain pitches available for use in a wide variety of applications.
Allowable load comparison
Motor position comparison
Plastic Block Chain: 2 motors
SnapCover Chain: 1 motor
Construction and connecting links
The connecting links are designed especially for SnapCover Chains.
- Connecting link plates can be removed because plastic covers are attached.
- Be aware that SnapCover Chain cannot use standard connecting links (cotter pins/spring clips).
Reference Number System
(1) Chain size: RF06B, RS40, RS50, RS60, RS80, RS100
(2) Base chain specs: Blank = Standard series, NP = NP series, LMC = Lambda series, LM = Lambda series (for RF06B only), SS = SS Series
(3) Model: SC = SnapCover Chain
(4) Plastic cover material: A = Standard series, E = Electroconducive series
(5) *CL is used only when there are connecting links.
Plastic covers
Standard series (base link) | Standard series (connecting link) | Electroconducive series |
---|---|---|
Material: Polyacetal (white) | Material: Polyacetal (light blue) | Material (base link and connecting link): Electroconducive polyacetal (black) |
Used in general applications. | Connecting links can be easily identified.* | Used to prevent dust from clinging to the chain from static electricity, and to prevent electrical noise and sparks. (Volume resistivity 1 x 10 6 Ω·cm) |
Cannot be used in conjunction with Electroconducive Series in order to preserve its electroconducive properties.
