Plastic Rails | TKK Corporation

TSUBAKI Top Chains
Plastic Rails

Plastic rail to support top chain running.

Tsubaki offers a complete line-up of plastic rails, including a versatile ultra-high molecular polyethylene type and one using a low friction, low wear plastic type, and specially designed for use in dry environments.

Ultra-high molecular polyethylene (UHMW-PE)

Features excellent slideability, wear resistance, chemical resistance, and impact resistance, and will not absorb water. They are widely used as rails, linings, and as industrial equipment parts.

Plastic rail specifications

P Series plastic rails (Code: P)
  • A plastic rail featuring ultra-high molecular polyethylene (UHMWPE), traditionally used for versatile products.
  • Recommended for use with stainless steel chains. When using together with plastic chains, we recommend using under wet conditions. (There is a possibility that more wear debris will be generated under dry conditions.)
  • Operating temperature range: -20 to 60°C
  • Not for use in contact with steam.
PMW Series plastic rail (Code: PMW)
  • A low friction, wear resistant version of the P Series plastic rail. The amount of wear debris generated can be brought down to M Series plastic rail levels.
  • The coefficient of friction on the chain can be reduced by 20% of traditional P Series plastic rails.
  • Operating temperature range: -20 to 60°C
  • Not for use in contact with steam.
M Series plastic rail (Code: M)
  • Plastic rail specially designed for use in dry environments. Recommended especially for applications where wear debris needs to be avoided.
  • Operating temperature range: -20 to 80°C
  • Not for use in wet environments.
PLF Series plastic rail (Code: PLF) — Low friction, wear resistant series
  • Can reduce the coefficient of dynamic friction compared to traditional plastic rails, and so suppresses the generation of wear debris in dry environments.
  • 10 – 40% lower than PMW Series rails, 30 – 50% lower than P Series rails.
